Ashley Tisdale Revamped Her Haircare Routine Following Alopecia Diagnosis: ‘I Could No Longer Take It for Granted’ (Exclusive)
The actress and singer, now 39, was diagnosed with alopecia areata in her mid-20s after noticing a bald spot near her hairline during a visit to her colorist.

In response to her diagnosis, Ashley Tisdale made significant adjustments to her haircare routine. She shares in an exclusive interview that she has become «much gentler with my hair and scalp» since learning about her condition.
Tisdale, who has partnered with Pfizer and Litfulo, an FDA-approved treatment for individuals aged 12 and older with severe alopecia areata, emphasizes how these changes were an important part of managing her alopecia diagnosis.

«I used to experiment with different colors, bleach my hair, and wear extensions, but I stopped all of that,» Tisdale shares. «I started treating my hair better, realizing I couldn’t take it for granted.»
She explains that the hardest part of alopecia areata is the lack of a cure: «It’s an autoimmune disease, and you’re left wondering, ‘What do I do now?'» Tisdale also describes the unpredictability of flare-ups, which are often stress-induced for her.

«When I see a bald spot, I know I need to relax because I’m too stressed,» she says, noting she experiences flare-ups every couple of years.
Tisdale, who has partnered with Pfizer and Litfulo to raise awareness about treatment options for alopecia areata, highlights the importance of education.
«When I was diagnosed, I didn’t know what to do or what options were available,» she admits. «It’s comforting to know that there are treatments now, and you’re not alone in this journey.»
