At the premiere of Wicked L.A., Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande show that they are best friends for life by dressing glamorously
At the Nov. 9 gala, the costars and friends continued to honor Glinda and Elphaba with themed attire.
Styled by Mimi Cuttrell, Grande wore a bespoke pink-and-white gingham dress by Thom Browne with a strapless ball gown silhouette.
She accessorized it with a matching bolero jacket, gloves, and glittering silver shoes. She wore her hair in a bow and a traditional updo.
Erivo, on the other hand, stood out in a unique green vinyl dress by Louis Vuitton, accessorized with a striking silk stole with fringe. With a range of exquisite jewelry items by Roberto Coin, including an 18K white gold diamond and emerald collar necklace from the brand’s Haute Couture range valued at an incredible $750,000, the actress, who was styled by Jason Bolden, enhanced her appearance.
On November 3, the cast of Wicked began the junket at the movie’s Sydney premiere.
With its puff sleeves and silver accents, Grande’s baby pink Vivienne Westwood gown is reminiscent of the one worn by actress Billie Burke, who played the Good Witch in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz. Grande couldn’t be more Glindafied.
She also wore jewelry designed by Lorraine Schwartz that had over 100 carats of diamonds.
Erivo’s bespoke black Louis Vuitton gown, which featured a structured skirt that flared out at her hips, was a subtle departure from Elphaba’s characteristic green.
However, she added a touch of emerald to her gemstone-encrusted nails.
Even at WSJ. Magazine’s 2024 Innovetor Awards on October 29, the pair embraced their Oz costumes, but with a minor twist.
Erivo donned a lime green Erdem design, while Grande unexpectedly forewent the pink and wore a white Vivienne Westwood gown with Swarovski sparkle. Despite this, Grande still looked like a walking fashion fantasy.
Fans received an exclusive glimpse inside the lavish production with fresh insights from the actors and producers themselves, but they will have to wait until November 22 to watch Erivo and Grande bring the well-known witches to life on the big screen.
Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, Marissa Bode as Nessarose, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Keala Settle as Miss Coddle, Ethan Slater as Boq, Peter Dinklage as Dr. Dillamond, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero are all featured in the film adaptation.
