Dayle Haddon’s final major modeling moment was a Vogue editorial featuring Blake Lively, published just four months before her passing

The cinematic shoot, titled “The Heist of the Heart,” was directed by Baz Luhrmann for the magazine’s September 2024 issue

Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s *To Catch a Thief*, it featured Lively as «The Cat» and Hugh Jackman as her co-star L’Ombre.

Haddon appeared in a casino-themed shot with Lively, which she shared on Instagram in August, along with behind-the-scenes footage.

In her post, Haddon expressed how much she enjoyed the experience, praising the “brilliant” Luhrmann for being a fun and creative collaborator.

She also had high praise for Lively, describing her as “absolutely delightful, funny, and mischievous,” and highlighting her generosity on set, from fixing Haddon’s dress to adjusting her Cartier jewels.

Haddon’s kind words about her co-stars and the shoot reflected the joy she found in her final modeling project.

In her final thank-you notes, Dayle Haddon expressed gratitude for various collaborators, including stylist Tonne Goodman, who had invited her to be part of the shoot.

She also praised Hugh Jackman, calling him “elegant and witty,” and shared a heartwarming moment from the Hitchcock-inspired photoshoot, where Jackman, in his Wolverine persona, playfully interacted with one of Lively’s daughters.

Sadly, Haddon passed away on December 27 at her son-in-law Marc Blucas’ home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Authorities responded to a 911 call around 6:30 a.m. and discovered Haddon’s body in a second-floor bedroom. A 76-year-old man, later confirmed as Walter Blucas, was found unconscious on the first floor and was hospitalized.

The cause of Haddon’s death is still under investigation, but authorities have determined that a faulty flue and exhaust pipe in the home’s gas heating system led to a carbon monoxide leak. Toxicology reports are being conducted to confirm the exact cause.
