Despite making the soundtrack, Lipa only appears in the film for 30 seconds in the new Barbie movie

She graced the red carpets of the new Barbie movie premieres in both London and Los Angeles.

But Dua Lipa, 27, appears in the film as Mermaid Barbie for a total of just 30 seconds of the 114-minute flick.

While she wrote a song for the soundtrack of the movie, the pop star says just 16 words throughout the whole feature, two of which are the film’s title, according to The Sun.

She has a total of five cameos, with her most prominent moment being when she offers John Cena’s merman character a beer.

However, Dua came out better than Rob Brydon who appears as a Ken Doll for six seconds and former Love Island star Chris Taylor who also appears as a Ken Doll for just two seconds.

On her foray into acting, Dua previously said on her Dua Lipa: At Your Service podcast last year: ‘For me it’s like baby steps.

‘That’s also just the best way to discover yourself as well.

‘Rather than throwing yourself in the deep end with something that maybe you can’t completely tackle head on.

‘I think my biggest fear would be taking on a really big role and being, like, ‘F**k! — now I have to be an actor and feel these emotions and feelings on camera,’ when I haven’t brought myself up to that point yet.’

Former Love Islander Chris Taylor recently revealed Margot Robbie, who plays Barbie, got him a part in the movie.

The reality star who previously dated Maura Higgins, spoke about his movie role, which is a small cameo, while on the pink carpet of the Barbie premiere last week.

Having kept it a secret for two years, he told LadBible: ‘There is a bit of a backstory. The lads went to a premiere.

‘They met Margot [Robbie], and then afterwards Margot shouted them and said ‘Come to the after party!’, cause she’s obsessed with Love Island right.’
