Eva Longoria is stepping up to support those affected by the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, pledging $1 million to the Latino Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund and the California

Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund.

These organizations work closely with grassroots groups in impacted communities.

Her contribution comes with support from the Bezos Courage & Civility Award, which was presented to Longoria by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez.

The award provided her with $50 million to donate to causes of her choosing, including this wildfire relief initiative.

On January 14, Longoria shared on *TODAY* that the award funds were meant to support her foundation’s work in education, entrepreneurship, and economic mobility, but she quickly pivoted to help those affected by the fires.

«I’m in a privileged position to help,» she said. «We’ve got to do something.»

Before making her $1 million pledge, Longoria also matched $50,000 for This Is About Humanity’s efforts to assist frontline workers, farm workers, and families impacted by the fires.

On January 15, Eva Longoria returned to Los Angeles to assist with relief efforts for the Eaton fire.

She began her day at the Global Empowerment Mission, where she helped pack and distribute fire relief and PPE care packages to the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON).

She also served meals provided by World Central Kitchen to victims, first responders, and volunteers. The fires have resulted in 25 fatalities so far.

As of January 15, the Eaton fire had scorched 14,117 acres and was 45% contained. The Hurst fire, burning 799 acres, is nearly fully contained at 98%, while the Palisades fire has consumed 23,713 acres, with only 21% containment.
