Italian s* х -sуmbol Sophia Loren doesn’t have plans to retire anytime soon

Despite having had emergency surgery in the past, the 90-year-old veteran movie actress still enjoys performing on screen and has no plans to retire from the motion picture business.

She told Deadline, «I don’t want to think about legacy,» as one of the few prominent stars from Hollywood’s Golden Age to still be alive. I wish to consider my upcoming film.

«I hope never to retire, but once I do, I’ll think about legacy,» she stated on Thursday.

The iconic actress has also stated that she doesn’t take the easy route and that she never had a «plan B» for her career.

The Two Women actor clarified, saying, «The secret is never to have a plan B so that you don’t end up taking the easy way out when you are faced with an obstacle you find insurmountable.»

You have no option but to proceed, so you take a deep breath, keep going, and figure out the best answer to your issue. Just a Plan A, no Plan Bs.

Before receiving her big break in 1953’s Aida, Sophia worked as a model and made her film debut in Quo Vadis, which helped her become a global sex symbol in the 1950s.

The actress never really gave it’much consideration’, despite all the attention she received for her ability and inherent attractiveness.

«To be honest, I am who I am; being a sex symbol has never defined me,» she stated.

«I’m not naive; I know that some people react to me in this way, but I’ve never really thought about it.»

Sophia told the newspaper that she was inspired by Hollywood at the time to view acting as a skill in which she could add her own unique storytelling flair.

«Being true to my craft and being a part of stories that can move and inspire people has always been something I have given much thought to,» she added.

«I’ve always found a lot of inspiration in Hollywood.»  The currency of the inhabitants in this city is the craft and the quest for perfection. It is inspiring as well as ambitious.

The actress also talked about how she instantly bonded with some of her favorite performers when she first arrived in Los Angeles, likening it to a lovely city of «dreams.»

I will always remember being perplexed by what I saw when I first arrived in Los Angeles and glanced out the window.

«I thought of Hollywood as a fantasy city full of color and fantasy, like Oz, but instead I saw desert and orange tree fields,» she remarked.

The actress said, «It took me some time to reconcile the Hollywood of my dreams with its city, but as soon as I met the actors and filmmakers that I so admired, I had found the Hollywood of my dreams again because that dream lived in the great talent and hearts of all those wonderful artists.»

As the first performer to win an Oscar for a non-English language picture, the actress notably missed the 1962 Oscars event when she received the Best Actress Award for her performance in Two Women.

The prize was something she «truly never in a million years thought [she] would win,» she says to this day.

Sophia most recently starred in The Life Ahead, her son Edoardo Ponti’s Oscar-nominated 2020 film, for which she received the David di Donatello Award for best actress.

She portrayed a Holocaust survivor who develops a relationship with a Nigerian immigrant who is 12 years old.
