Jason Kelce sparks controversy after humorously referring to US cities as the «b******t and armpit of America,» dividing viewers’ opinions

Jason Kelce is facing backlash after making a controversial joke about two major Texas cities on national television.

During ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, the former Philadelphia Eagles center and brother of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce called Dallas and Arlington the «b******t and armpit of America,» leaving his co-panelists shocked.

The remark came after a playful animated segment, where Mina Kimes, Dan Orlovsky, and Drew Carter hosted an alternative broadcast of the Monday night game, inspired by The Simpsons.

During the segment, Mina Kimes playfully referred to the fictional town of Springfield as “the armpit of America’s bcrack.” But when the broadcast shifted back to real-world coverage of the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Dallas Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium, Jason Kelce took it up a notch.

As host Scott Van Pelt mentioned, “We’re in the state of Texas, Arlington, Dallas…” Kelce chimed in with his infamous line: “Also the b***t and armpit of America.”

The remark sent the panel into a frenzy, with gasps and awkward laughter filling the air. Kelce quickly attempted to clarify, saying, “Guys, it was just a joke because of what Mina said. We’re having fun here. I love Dallas. We got the cowboy hats.”

Despite his attempt to backpedal, social media quickly lit up. On X (formerly Twitter), one fan couldn’t help but laugh: “Jason Kelce called Dallas the b******t and armpit of America on live national television. I’m crying, I love that man.”

Not everyone found Kelce’s comment amusing. “Can’t believe you let Jason Kelce call Dallas a ‘b******t Town’ on live TV,” one critic tweeted, tagging ESPN.

«As a lifelong Eagles fan… Jason Kelce’s 15 minutes of fame are over,» another user wrote.

“Please tell me when the Kelce show is over,” added one more.

Some even went as far as suggesting, «He should be fired on the spot.» Another remarked, “Jason Kelce calling Dallas the b******t of America on ESPN wasn’t on my bingo card.”

Given Kelce’s history with the Eagles—Dallas’ NFC East rivals—his comment was always bound to stir up some controversy. Whether seen as playful or disrespectful, it’s clear that the former player isn’t shy about keeping things interesting.
