Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are actively supporting those affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern California.

According to Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are eager to offer their assistance. On Friday, January 10, they visited the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena to help distribute food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire.

Focused on providing discreet aid, the couple interacted with victims, witnessed their struggles, and witnessed the resilient spirit of the community.

They donated essential items, served meals alongside World Central Kitchen volunteers, and spent time with families, particularly the elderly, who were affected by the fires.

They also expressed their gratitude to first responders, including L.A. County firefighters and police, and met with World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés.

In addition to their hands-on efforts, Meghan and Harry, through their Archewell Foundation, have contributed monetary donations and plan to continue supporting recovery efforts.

They took time to connect with families in burned-out areas of Pasadena and Altadena, with Mayor Gordo noting their genuine care and concern for those impacted.

The couple’s visit, which included a stop at the Rose Bowl command post, was done with a focus on helping rather than seeking publicity.

Mayor Gordo praised their efforts, emphasizing how Harry and Meghan boosted the spirits of first responders and families during a challenging time. Their support also extended to opening their Montecito home to those forced to evacuate.

In a statement on their website, Harry and Meghan shared their sorrow over the destruction caused by the wildfires and provided resources for those in need, including information about organizations offering free housing and supplies.

The Eaton Fire, which has burned nearly 14,000 acres, is the second largest wildfire in Southern California this week, with significant loss of life and property.
