Travis Kelce Responds to Lil Wayne’s ‘Cheating Azz Chiefs’ Comment about His Team
Following criticism from fans and players about controversial officiating during the Chiefs’ recent game against the Houston Texans, Travis Kelce is addressing Lil Wayne’s remarks.

On the latest episode of their *New Heights* podcast, released Wednesday, January 22, the 35-year-old NFL star and his brother Jason Kelce discussed the rapper’s less-than-flattering response to the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory in their recent playoff game.
“The whole world was talking about something else during the game, and I’m sure you saw some of this, but they were complaining about the refs again, Trav,” said Jason, 37, referring to the criticism the Chiefs’ game faced.
“Even Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne [wrote on social media], ‘I hate the cheating a– Chiefs. So an a– with two z’s,” Jason added.

Travis, taking the playful jab in stride, responded, “Shout out to Tunechie, man.” This came after both fans and players voiced their displeasure with multiple controversial calls during the Chiefs’ AFC division game against the Houston Texans on January 18.
In the game, the Texans were penalized twice for contact with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which helped extend Kansas City’s drives, eventually leading to a 23-14 victory.
Fans took to social media to voice their opinions, with one user posting on X (formerly Twitter), “These refs are ridiculous… How is a flag on the Texans?? Mahomes slid way too late. Awful.”

Another joked with a photo of multiple penalty flags, “NFL refs when Patrick Mahomes gets touched.”
Lil Wayne, a Green Bay Packers fan, shared his frustration on X, writing, “It’s not even impressive when u cheat and then clearly try to cheat. Just win baby.”
Will Anderson Jr., who was penalized for roughing the passer on Mahomes, told ESPN after the game, “We knew it was going to be us versus the refs going into this game.”
Texans’ head coach DeMeco Ryans also expressed his displeasure, commenting, “We knew going into this game, man, it was us versus everybody. And when I say everybody, it’s everybody.”

Travis Kelce contributed significantly to the Chiefs’ win, with seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. Mahomes praised Travis’s clutch performance, noting that he’s known for making big plays in big moments.
«He just goes out there and executes at a high level, just like he does in the regular season, but with a little bit more intensity in the playoffs,» Mahomes said.
Looking ahead, the Chiefs are set to face the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Conference Championship on Sunday, January 26.
