Wendy Williams’ guardian reveals a heartbreaking court update about the TV host

Wendy Williams’ guardian has shared a heartbreaking update on the TV host’s battle with dementia. Diagnosed earlier this year with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, Williams, 60, began experiencing memory loss, speech issues, and erratic behavior in 2023.

Doctors confirmed these struggles were linked to aphasia and FTD, which affect communication and cognitive functions.

Court documents filed by her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, revealed the severity of Wendy’s condition, describing her as «permanently incapacitated.»

The documents also clarified Morrissey’s role in managing Williams’ finances, which prompted Wells Fargo in 2022 to seek guardianship in response to concerns about Wendy’s welfare.

In February, Wendy Williams’ guardian attempted to block the release of the Where is Wendy Williams? documentary by Lifetime through a restraining order, but the request was swiftly denied by a judge.

Shortly before the docuseries aired, the guardian filed a lawsuit against Lifetime and the involved production companies. However, according to court documents, the guardian «never served the Original Complaint.»

On September 16, 2024, an amended complaint was filed, and it was properly served to all defendants, including A&E Television Networks, Entertainment One Reality Productions, Lifetime Entertainment Services, Creature Films, and director Mark Ford.

The case was later transferred to federal court in October. Since then, the defendants have filed countersuits against Williams’ guardian.

In the midst of these legal battles, the guardian’s legal team has requested that certain private details regarding Williams’ health, family, and finances be redacted from the court documents to protect her privacy.
