Cyrus and Gomez didn’t have scenes together because of some school drama, but they’re doing well now
Details of some controversy between Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus have surfaced, fifteen years after the famous crossover of three popular Disney Channel shows.
Three of Disney Channel’s popular series were combined into a crossover back in 2009: Dylan and Cole Sprouse’s The Suite Life on Deck, Miley Cyrus’s Hannah Montana, and Selena Gomez’s Wizards of Waverly Place.
The SS Tipton, the cruise ship that Zack (Dylan Sprouse) and Cody Martin (Cole Sprouse) live on, is the same cruise that Hannah Montana booked as a teenager in order to attend a Hawaii performance.
This is the same cruise that Alex Russo (Gomez) and her siblings won a vacation on through an essay contest.
In the three-part special, Gomez, 32, who recently disclosed the one cosmetic surgery treatment she had, and Cyrus, 31, both featured in one episode; however, they did not share any scenes together, which, as it turns out, was intentional.
On their Wizards of Waverly Place rewatch podcast, stars Jennifer Stone (Harper Finkle) and David DeLuise (Jerry Russo) answered a question from a listener on the special.
Stone sent DeLuise a glance while he was trying to explain, telling her to «spill» and insinuating that they weren’t on good terms during the shoot.
They had sporadic good relations. Come on, I mean. It was probably in high school. Like, they both dated Jonas,’ the woman remarked.
«I believe Miley dated him first, followed by Selena,» she continued. «After that, it was just messy high school nonsense.»
They are now alright. Now they’re all OK. But, yes, Stone emphasized on the program, «it was high school just BS.»
While Gomez and Jonas intermittently dated from 2008 to 2010, Cyrus did, in fact, date Nick Jonas initially, from 2006 to 2007.
In a 2016 interview with W, Gomez maintained that she and Cyrus «never ‘feuded,'» saying, «We both liked the same guy when we were sixteen.»
2018 saw Cyrus defend Gomez after Stefano Gabbana of Dolce & Gabbana referred to him as «so ugly,» two years later.
