Mandy Moore is celebrating her son Gus’ 4th birthday by honoring his «resilience» in the face of the recent Los Angeles wildfires, calling him their «magic boy.»
Mandy Moore is showering her son Gus with love on his special day, reflecting on the tough times her family has faced recently.
On Thursday, February 20, the 40-year-old actress posted a series of photos on Instagram to celebrate her son August «Gus» turning four.

The heartwarming pictures show Gus blowing party streamers, spending quality time with dad Taylor Goldsmith, and posing with his siblings—2-year-old Oscar «Ozzie» and their newest addition, Louise, who joined the family in September.
«Happy 4th birthday to our magic boy. Goosey, it’s so easy to celebrate you every day. Your smile and laugh are beyond contagious,» Moore captioned the photos.
«You know every dinosaur by name and can sing Tom Petty lyrics.

You’re so kind and gentle with your sister. You’re always checking on others when they’re sick or hurt, trying to make them feel better.
Your curiosity about the world keeps us grounded and alert.»
Moore went on to praise Gus’ «resilience» and «sense of adventure» over the past six weeks, referring to the challenges their family has overcome due to the recent Los Angeles wildfires.

«Everything is going to be okay as long as we’re together,» she wrote, adding how grateful she is to be Gus’ mother.
«I love you beyond words, and I feel so lucky to love and be loved by you. Happy Birthday, Gus!»
In January, Moore shared an emotional update on Instagram about her family’s experience with the wildfires in Los Angeles.

«This is Altadena. Leveled. My sweet home. I am devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much. I’m absolutely numb,» she wrote.
She expressed gratitude for her family’s safety, as well as the support they received from friends who took them in.
«Grateful for my family and pets getting out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets),» she shared.
«Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family.»

Moore went on to describe the destruction she witnessed, noting that her children’s school and their favorite restaurants were gone.
«So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too,» she wrote. «Our community is broken, but we will rebuild together.
Sending love to all affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control.»
