Serena Williams is offering fans an exclusive glimpse behind the scenes of her memorable appearance at Super Bowl LIX
Serena Williams recently gave fans an exclusive look at her behind-the-scenes preparations for her surprise performance during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.
On February 9, 2025, the tennis legend took the stage at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, where she showcased her impressive Crip Walk skills while dancing to Lamar’s hit “Not Like Us.”
With the secret now revealed, Williams shared intimate rehearsal photos on Instagram, offering a peek into her practice sessions.
The images feature her and her 7-year-old daughter Olympia, who played a key role in supporting her mother as she practiced.
One shot shows Olympia standing behind Williams while she practices the Crip Walk, while another captures a sweet moment of Olympia playing with her mom’s hair during a break.
For the rehearsal, Serena wore part of her Super Bowl outfit: a blue skirt, blue high-top Converse sneakers, and a black top.
Olympia was dressed in black-and-white printed pants and a white graphic tee. “Rehearsals anyone?” Williams captioned the post.
Balancing her career and family life has always been a priority for Serena, who has two daughters with her husband, Alexis Ohanian.
Their first daughter, Alexis Olympia, was born in 2017, and their second, Adira River, arrived in 2023.
Serena has spoken about the joy and challenges of motherhood, especially since stepping away from tennis in 2022.
She shared that becoming a mother changed her perspective on life, saying, «When I had a family and got married, I realized that there’s so much more to life.»
Her daughter Olympia continues to remind her of the importance of family time, often expressing that she wants her mom to be present.
Despite juggling many responsibilities, Serena has embraced the challenge of balancing family, career, and personal projects.
As she put it in a 2018 interview, “It’s been so hard balancing being a mom, starting my clothing line, and playing professional sport, but that challenge makes it fun!»
