Simpson said a fan who approached her for an autograph mistook her for Spears
Jessica Simpson humorously revealed that she was mistaken by Britney Spears by a fan who asked for an autograph, and shared the moment to her Instagram page on Saturday.
The TV personality, 43 — who recently showed off her slim figure after denying taking weight loss drug Ozempic — was a good sport about the mix up and still paused for a snap with the excited fan.
In the caption, the singer penned, ‘The face when someone in the parking lot at the mall asks you for your autograph, but expects you to sign it Britney Spears.’
In the image, Simpson and the fan held shocked expressions on their faces while standing outdoors as the sun shone down on the them.
Spears notably compared herself to Jessica late last year in December when she shared a throwback photo of herself. ‘Why do I look EXACTLY like Jessica Simpson??? Also my face looks so pale,’ the performer had written.
Social media users jumped to the comment section of the star’s latest post to offer their opinions on the mix up.
One fan wrote, ‘She posted a photo of herself a while back and noted how she looked just like you! She really did!’ while another typed out, ‘Both beautiful queens!’
Some followers referenced Britney’s recent videos that showed herself performing with knives — which she has since claimed are ‘fake.’
A welfare check was recently done on the performer due to the clips — which she later labeled as a ‘joke.’
She explained that she had been recreating a performance done by Shakira. Last month, the Hips Don’t Like songstress notably danced with knives during her performance during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
