Spears is speaking out after backlash from fans over the knife video. why so rude

Pop star Britney Spears has told her concerned fans that they need to «lighten up» after she posted a bizarre video dancing with knives.

The star explained that she was just “copying Shakira” and the utensils were not real but fans were not convinced.

The pop sensation took to Instagram on Monday (September 25) with a video where she was dancing in her underwear holding two knives.

Britney captioned the video “I started playing in the kitchen with knives today” and fans were left concerned for the star’s wellbeing.

The Princess of Pop later took to social media and said: “Lighten up about the knives. I’m copying Shakira.»

The Toxic songstress was referencing Shakira’s performance at the MTV VMAs earlier this month where she performed with a knife.

In a later edited caption, Britney clarified that the knives were «not real» explaining “Halloween is soon.”

However, her fans were left unconvinced and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts. One person said that the knives definitely «were not fake» due to the audible «clang» when she dropped one on the floor.

Someone wrote: “Those poor dogs [dog emoji] just ran scared, they need to be rescued and she needs help. This is a cry for help and she is not ok and is really going to hurt someone.”

Another typed: “The knives made a clanking [noise]. They’re clearly real. Real enough to fall on and kill one of those poor worried pups.”

Some fans rushed to Britney’s defence and took to social media and said that it was clear she wasn’t aiming to hurt someone.

One fan penned: “Shakira did this in front of millions yet not one person said s***. This isnt a big deal, it’s literally fake knives.”

While another wrote: «Look at her form in this video! She’s not going to hurt anyone.” The controversy comes after it was claimed that the songstress has a «fascination with knives.»
