Susan Lucci shares the two simple pleasures that help her feel confident at 78 in this exclusive reveal

At the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Collection Concert in New York City, Susan Lucci shared the two simple pleasures that make her feel confident: «A great dress and a little spa day.»

The Emmy-winning actress, 78, looked radiant in a dazzling sequin halter-neck gown while attending the star-studded event.

Lucci joined a host of celebrities at the AHA’s annual fashion show and concert, where performances by Suki Waterhouse and headliner Sara Bareilles were featured, alongside runway appearances by Porsha Williams, Teyana Taylor, Abigail Spencer, and Busy Philipps.

Sharon Stone hosted the event at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

A longtime supporter of the AHA, Lucci has become a familiar face at the event, having walked both the red carpet and the runway in previous years.

She was named an ambassador for the organization in 2018.

The actress, who has undergone two heart procedures to insert stents, continues to raise awareness for heart health and is dedicated to empowering others with her journey.

In 2023, Susan Lucci launched a jewelry collection to support the American Heart Association, sharing how her own health challenges inspired her to make significant lifestyle changes.

She spoke about her journey, encouraging other women to take heart health seriously. «I almost didn’t talk about it, I felt so ashamed. But it’s a reminder to stay vigilant,» she admitted.

Now in her 70s, Lucci continues to achieve new milestones.

In September, she made her debut at New York Fashion Week, closing the Spring-Summer 2025 Dennis Basso show in a breathtaking sage green off-the-shoulder gown with a sweeping cape.

Designer Dennis Basso, who has been a close friend of Lucci for 30 years, created the custom piece for the occasion, as he shared with *The New York Times*.
