Cynthia Erivo is set to receive a ‘Special Moment’ at the 2025 Oscars Ceremony following her standout year with Wicked.

During the 97th Oscars Creative Team press conference on Wednesday, February 26, Academy Awards executive producer Katy Mullan announced that Cynthia Erivo, who is set to perform with her Wicked co-star Ariana Grande at the upcoming ceremony, will be honored with «a very special moment» during the show.

«I think Cynthia delivered an incredible performance this year, and there’s a very special moment dedicated to her on the show,» Mullan revealed.

«We can’t disclose the details or the timing just yet, but for fans of Cynthia Erivo, it will be a hugely entertaining and joyful celebration of her immense talent and her impact on music over the past year.»

The Academy confirmed on Monday, February 24, that Erivo, 38, and Grande, 31, will perform together during the Oscars telecast on Sunday, March 2.

The organizers teased fans with a social media post, promising a «spellbinding moment» and a «performance you won’t forget.»

In addition to Erivo and Grande, other performers announced for the evening include Queen Latifah, who will participate in a Quincy Jones tribute, as well as Doja Cat, Lisa of BLACKPINK, and Raye.

A special appearance by the Los Angeles Master Chorale will also add to the excitement.

«The music performances this year are truly special and thoughtfully curated,» said Raj Kapoor, executive producer and showrunner of the Academy Awards.

«They reflect this year’s films while honoring icons and legends.»

This year’s ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will not feature live performances of the Best Original Song nominees, as the Academy confirmed in January.

*Wicked* has earned 10 total Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and acting nods for both Erivo and Grande.

Though Wicked: Part One didn’t have any original songs eligible for Oscar consideration, Erivo has hinted at a new song she co-wrote for the sequel, Wicked: For Good, set to hit theaters later this year.

«I believe this song is incredibly special, and even the title will move you,» she shared.
