For the first time in three years, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish were shut out at the Grammys
Billie Eilish received seven nominations and Taylor Swift earned six from the Recording Academy for the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Both artists, who had major achievements in 2024, arrived at the show poised for big wins, but for the first time since 2022, neither left with an award.
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards, held on Sunday, Feb. 2, marked the first time in three years that Swift and Eilish went home empty-handed.
Both musicians had enjoyed successful years, which made them favorites for the evening.
Swift, 35, released *The Tortured Poets Department* during her record-breaking Eras Tour and became the top global artist on Spotify in 2024.
Eilish, 23, released *Hit Me Hard and Soft* and completed her *Hit Me Hard and Soft* tour, with her hit single “Birds of a Feather” becoming the most-streamed track on Spotify in 2024.
Throughout their careers, Swift has won 14 Grammys, while Eilish has taken home nine. Despite not winning this time, both artists were supportive of their peers and celebrated the achievements of others at the event.
Swift was nominated for several major categories, including best music video for «Fortnight,» album of the year, and best pop vocal album for *The Tortured Poets Department*.
She was also nominated for best pop duo/group performance with Gracie Abrams for «us,» and for song of the year and record of the year for «Fortnight» with Post Malone.
During the ceremony, Swift presented Beyoncé with the Grammy for Best Country Album and danced during Sabrina Carpenter’s performance.
She also shared a seat with *Wicked* star Cynthia Erivo, chatted with Blue Ivy, and toasted Kendrick Lamar after his win.
Swift danced with Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’s son during Shakira’s performance and later toasted Beyoncé after her Album of the Year win.
Eilish, nominated for seven Grammys, performed “Birds of a Feather” in tribute to Los Angeles and later joined Charli XCX on stage for «Von Dutch» and «Guess.»
Throughout the night, she posed with Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter between performances.
