Lady Gaga and her fiancé Michael Polansky are focusing on keeping their relationship grounded and as «normal» as possible despite the pressures of public life.
In an interview with *ELLE* for their February cover story, Polansky, a tech investor, opened up about how they navigate their relationship under the public eye and how they find solace in quiet, intimate moments.
«Accepting that you won’t have the privacy others might have was the hardest part,» Polansky admitted, adding that Gaga’s patience and comfort with their situation have been incredible.
«But Stefani’s comfort with it and patience with me has been amazing.» (Stefani is Gaga’s real name.)
Polansky emphasized that their relationship is, at its core, like any other.
«Our relationship is probably a lot like everyone else’s. We just have to figure out how to do some of it in public. That makes it even more important for us to have strong friendships and close family relationships. We find normalcy where we can.»
For the couple, that sense of normalcy includes simple activities like making pasta and roasting food.
«We also really like making simple dishes with Michael’s mom, who lives nearby,» Gaga, 38, shared.
She also referred to the quiet moments with Polansky, their friends, and even their dogs as «everyday poetry,» equating it to the beauty of her musical performances.
Gaga went public with her relationship with Polansky after the 2020 Super Bowl, and they got engaged in early 2024, keeping it private until their red carpet debut at the Venice Film Festival in September 2024.

In her *ELLE* interview, Gaga revealed that Polansky contributed to her upcoming album *Mayhem*, co-writing seven songs.
«I spent a lot of time with her, bringing my laptop to work while she was recording,» he said.
Gaga recalled Polansky telling her, «You are a special human being when the cameras aren’t on you,» and gushed, «I just love my fiancé so much. He’s my best friend, and everything changes when you’re with your best friend.»
