Spears reaches a huge milestone when she joins the billion club with a hit
Britney Spears has hit the huge milestone of her 2003 hit Toxic reaching a billion streams on Spotify.
The singer, 41, has clearly stayed relevant and on fans’ playlists, despite it being seven years since she last dropped an album.

Britney joined Spotify’s ‘Billions Club’ over the weekend, just days after her new release Mind Your Business, with will.i.am.
The pop queen is in good company on the list, with names ranging from ABBA with Dancing Queen, to Whitney Houston with I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and Nirvana with Smells Like Teen Spirit.
One artist not on the list is Australian megastar Kylie Minogue, who turned recording the song down before it was given to Britney.

According to Spotify’s playlist keeping track of the elite club, Toxic is the 449th song to hit the landmark billion figure, on the same day as Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift.
It is undoubtedly Britney’s most successful song, with her next most-streamed hit on Spotify being …Baby One More Time on just over 650 million streams.

Mind Your Business has not quite enjoyed the same universal acclaim, with fans divided over whether it is a ‘bop’ or a ‘flop,’ although will.i.am has been full of praise for the singer.
The song is Britney’s second recent collaboration, after teaming up with Elton John last year for a new remix based on his 1972 classic Tiny Dancer, titled Hold Me Closer.

It likely will not be the last, after a source told DailyMail.com that the Spotify billionaire has ‘multiple albums’ worth of new music waiting to be released once she is finished on her new memoir.
People revealed that the highly-anticipated autobiography The Woman In Me is scheduled to hit the shelves on October 24.
