Anne Hathaway’s 5-year-old son, Jack, made a rare appearance at the Super Bowl to cheer on the Eagles with his mom
Anne Hathaway, 42, who shares two sons, Jonathan, 8, and Jack, with her husband Adam Shulman, is all about family pride, especially when it comes to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The *Princess Diaries* star was spotted at the Super Bowl in New Orleans on February 9 with her 5-year-old son, Jack, both dressed in Eagles gear and cheering for the team.
The pair appeared on the jumbotron, waving enthusiastically as they soaked in the excitement of the game.
Hathaway, originally from New York, has a connection to Philadelphia through her late grandfather, Joe McCauley, a famed radio personality.
Alongside her sons, Hathaway is committed to keeping family life private while enjoying moments like these.
This Super Bowl outing wasn’t their first time at a sports event together. In November, Hathaway took Jack to a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.
During the game, cameras caught a hilarious moment when player Ogugua «OG» Anunoby crashed into the sideline, startling Jack and causing some popcorn to spill.
The announcers joked about the surprise, noting how mesmerized Jack appeared by the sudden chaos.
His co-host remarked, “The little one was completely captivated. He couldn’t move a muscle.”
As they continued talking, a clip of a beaming Hathaway appeared on the screen, gently rubbing her son’s arm.
In a November 2023 interview with *NET-A-PORTER’s* digital magazine *PORTER*, Hathaway shared her thoughts on why she makes an effort to shield her children from the public eye.
“It’s something I feel is crucial for my well-being — it’s not just about me, I’m part of a team, and that includes my family,” she explained. “My family has its own needs, and one of those is allowing my children to shape their own lives.”
She went on to add, “I don’t even think to tie the two together, other than in gratitude for how beautifully they complement each other. But they do so through me, not from a place outside of myself.”
