Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are officially confirmed to perform at the 2025 Oscars.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed on Monday, February 24, that the Wicked co-stars will take the stage at the Academy Awards this Sunday, March 2.

«Prepare for an enchanting moment,» the event organizers teased in a social media post, promising an unforgettable performance.

In addition to Grande and Erivo, other newly announced performers include Queen Latifah, and «three global superstars»—Doja Cat, Lisa of BLACKPINK, and Raye—who will deliver a “spectacular celebration of cinema.»

This year’s ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will depart from tradition by not featuring live performances of the Best Original Song nominees. Instead, the Academy plans to focus on the songwriters.

“This year, the Best Original Song category will shift away from live performances and will highlight the songwriters,” the Academy shared in a letter to members in January.

“We will honor their artistry through personal reflections from the teams behind these songs, exploring the stories and inspirations behind the nominees.”

The nominees include Emilia Pérez’s «El Mal» and «Mi Camino,» The Six Triple Eight’s «The Journey,» Sing Sing’s «Like a Bird,» and Elton John: Never Too Late’s «Never Too Late.»

*Wicked* received 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and acting nominations for both Erivo, 38, and Grande, 31.

When asked about the rumors of a live performance, both Grande and Erivo remained coy but expressed excitement about the possibility.

«Of course, we love singing together,» Grande told The Hollywood Reporter in December.

«I’ll sing anywhere, anytime, especially in celebration of Wicked, and I adore her—she’s my sister.

Just say the word, and we’ll be there.» In February, Erivo playfully responded to Variety, saying, «Why does everyone keep saying that?

I don’t know where this has come from. It feels like wishful thinking!»

Although no original songs from *Wicked* are eligible for an Oscar, Erivo has hinted at a new song she co-wrote for the sequel Wicked: For Good, set to hit theaters later this year.

“I believe this song is very special. Even the title will move you,” she shared with Variety.

The 97th Academy Awards will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and Hulu.
