Expecting mother Kylie Kelce reveals the screen time rule she and her husband Jason have followed with their children since day one.
Kylie Kelce is offering a glimpse into her approach to managing screen time with her children in the digital age.
On a recent episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, the expectant mother of four, 32, discussed the screen time guidelines she and her husband, retired NFL star Jason Kelce, 37, have put in place for their three daughters—Bennett, 2, Elliotte «Ellie,» 3, and Wyatt, 5.
Speaking with *I’ll Have What She’s Having* author Chelsea Handler, 50, Kylie explained that while they’re not against screen time, they strive to limit it.
«We’re not opposed to screen time in our house,» Kylie shared. «I try to limit it, but not in a rigid way.
Sometimes, I’ll pretend to set a timer and tell them ‘one more.’ And if I haven’t finished what I need to do, I’ll tell them they’ve been so good and let them have one more round.»
She added, «Our girls have tablets, but they only use them on planes and rarely at home.
They’re not allowed to use phones—this has been a rule from the start. Occasionally, they’ll borrow someone’s phone to take pictures.
Wyatt’s really into selfies right now, and Dad’s thrilled about that.»
In last week’s episode, Kylie also shared her thoughts on children’s birthday parties, revealing one parenting trend she’s not a fan of.
She expressed her firm stance against giving presents to other children at someone else’s birthday party.
«I’m strongly against the idea of other kids getting presents at someone else’s birthday party,» Kylie said.
«We make sure no one else gets a gift at Bennett’s birthday. It’s her special day.»
She continued, «When siblings get presents on your birthday, it takes away from your special day.
It teaches them that just because someone’s getting gifts doesn’t mean it’s automatically their turn.
It’s a ‘participation trophy’ kind of idea, and that’s just not happening in our family.»
Kylie is known for her candidness about motherhood.
In the January 23 episode, she described raising kids as one of the «most selfless» and «all-encompassing» responsibilities someone can take on, noting that while it can be all-consuming, it doesn’t erase your identity as an individual.
«You’re constantly thinking about the little ones you’re responsible for,» Kylie reflected.
«But there’s this misconception that motherhood takes over everything else and defines you solely as a mom.»
