Following her divorce, Christina Hall resumed filming the series without her estranged spouse
The Flip Off is going full steam ahead without Josh Hall, multiple sources tell PEOPLE.
The upcoming HGTV series starring Christina Hall, Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa is back to filming without Christina’s estranged husband Josh, after he filed for divorce on July 15, the insiders confirm.
The show, which the network previously announced is set to premiere in 2025, originally pitted Christina, 41, and Josh, 43, against Christina’s first husband Tarek El Moussa, and his new wife, Selling Sunset alum Heather Rae El Moussa.
The two couples were meant to «compete to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain (and a chance at major bragging rights),” according to HGTV’s announcement.
It’s unclear how the competition may now be restructured with Christina’s partner out of the picture.
HGTV has not yet confirmed the status of Josh’s involvement in the show or if his departure would impact its planned 2025 release.
On Christina on the Coast, Christina’s right-hand man is designer James Bender, a good friend who helps manage her many makeovers. The pair previously teamed up to compete on HGTV’s Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge in 2023.
Josh filed for divorce from the Christina in the Country star in a filing obtained by PEOPLE on July 16. Josh cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce, and requested spousal support from his now-estranged wife.
A series of promotions for The Flip Off intentionally built off of the complicated relationships between its stars.
In a video posted on Christina’s Instagram in May that goes in on the resemblance between her and Heather Rae, the two women wear matching jeans and black tops and appear to get confused about who is who — along with Tarek.
In another promotional clip, Christina and Heather get into a mock argument while singing along to the lyrics of rapper Big Sean’s “I Don’t F— With You.”
Another shows Heather carrying Tarek out of their house with the caption: “When your husband tells you we’re filming a show with his ex-wife.”
