After years of waiting to hear the song live, Taylor Swift finally performed it.
During the secret songs portion, Swift, 34, shocked the sold-out audience at the Eras Tour event in Amsterdam on Saturday, July 6. She mashup’d «Mary’s Song,» «So High School,» and «Everything Has Changed.»
Swift sung the last lines of the 2006 hit song «Mary’s Song,» which has a new meaning for her while dating NFL player Travis Kelce
: «I’ll by 87, you’ll be 89 / I’ll still look at you like the stars that shine / In the sky, oh my my my.» This was the last line she sang during the mashup.
Fans cheered when they heard the lyrics of the song, which Swift had played for the first time since 2008, because she was born in 1989 and the Kansas City Chiefs player’s jersey number is 87.
The singer of «Fortnight» had a large smile on her face.
The 34-year-old Kelce, who was also born in 1989, was present for this unique occasion. He is now a regular on Swift’s historic stadium tour, and last month, he even went onstage with her for a gig in London.
Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes, Kelce’s wife and teammate, were among the audience members who witnessed the occasion in real time.
