In an attempt to salvage her career, Katy Perry releases a new dance hit
The song «Lifetimes» from Katy Perry’s upcoming album 143 will be her next single, the singer has officially revealed.
The pop sensation shared the following message on Monday morning to her 206 million Instagram followers: «LIFETIMES AUGUST 9 SONG + VIDEO PRE-SAVE NOW KATY.TO/LIFETIMES.»
The 39-year-old singer revealed recently that Daisy, the daughter of her and fiancé Orlando Bloom, who turns four on August 20, served as inspiration for the song.
To go along with the teaser clip, Perry choreographed a dance alongside influencers Brooke Blewitt and Jess Qualter; Irish vocalists Jedward also made an appearance.
Less than a month has passed since her comeback single, Woman’s World, failed to win over admirers.
The announcement post for Lifetimes has received 165,000 likes so far, indicating that fans are eager to see the musician bounce back from the unimpressive first single from the project.
In an appearance on The One Show, Katy disclosed how her kid served as the inspiration for her next song.
She explained that the song’s inspiration came from a cute conversation she had with the child.
«Lifetimes is a song that I wrote inspired by my daughter,» the ecstatic mother exclaimed. Of course, I always tell her «I love you» before she goes to bed, but lately I’ve also asked, «Will you find me in every lifetime?» To which she always responds, «Yes.»
The musician also shared another anecdote: «The cutest thing is that we’ve been all over Europe this summer, visiting a lot of beaches.
I bought a big stack of chocolate gold coins, and I hide them when we’re building sandcastles so she will find them. She loves finding chocolate coins.»
«Will you find me in every lifetime?» I asked the other day. «Yes, and let’s find chocolate coins together,» she replied.
The performer plans to release album 143 on September 20.
In reference to the album’s title, she clarified on the podcast, saying, «Those are my angel numbers.» That’s what I see when I need direction, reassurance, or just reassurance that I’m in the correct spot.
