Kim Kardashian is opening up about the challenges she faced after her divorce from Kanye West
Kim Kardashian recently shared the emotional challenges she faced after her divorce from Kanye West, reflecting on the difficulty of accepting a change in a person she once knew.
During an episode of *The Kardashians* on February 13, Kim opened up to her sister Khloé and mom Kris Jenner about how tough it was when divorce wasn’t her desired outcome but became unavoidable due to circumstances.
Khloé, speaking about her reunion with ex-husband Lamar Odom, revealed she had married him too quickly but wouldn’t change a thing, admitting that drugs were a factor in their split.
Her confession resonated with Kim, who shared her own painful experience with Kanye’s transformation, saying,
“When you don’t foresee something that changes a person’s personality, and they’re no longer the same person, but you can’t live with the new one… I get it.»
Kim went on to explain in a confessional, “It’s harder when the end of your marriage is forced by circumstances you didn’t expect, and it’s not the outcome you hoped for, but you have no other option.”
She emphasized how challenging it was to move on when she never wanted the marriage to end, but felt there was no way to repair it.
Kim and Kanye, who share four children, filed for divorce in 2021 after six years together, following Kanye’s struggles with bipolar disorder.
Kim previously revealed in a court filing the emotional distress caused by Kanye’s public comments on their divorce and co-parenting, and her desire for privacy.
Despite their differences, Kim acknowledged that she wanted the marriage to end, even if Kanye did not fully agree.
After the divorce, Kim briefly dated Pete Davidson and was later linked to Odell Beckham Jr., though their relationship ended in April 2024.
*The Kardashians* airs new episodes on Hulu every Thursday.
