Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have recently made their first appearances on their mother’s Instagram. Here’s everything you need to know about the young siblings!
A year after their 2018 wedding, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child, Archie, in London.
Following their decision to step back from royal duties in 2020, the couple relocated to Santa Barbara, California, where they later had their daughter, Lilibet, in 2021.
Although neither Archie nor Lilibet were initially given royal titles at birth, their titles changed when King Charles ascended the throne in 2022.
Now, they are officially recognized as Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex, with the family adopting Sussex as their surname.
For privacy reasons, Harry and Meghan have kept their children largely out of the public eye, often sharing photos that don’t fully reveal their faces.
One of their rare appearances was in Meghan’s 2024 Christmas card and Lili’s debut on Meghan’s lifestyle platform, As Ever.
The couple has also been active in supporting initiatives, like the program launched through their Archewell Foundation to assist parents whose children have been affected by online harm.
In a 2024 interview, Meghan shared how she and Harry are focused on protecting their young children, emphasizing the importance of addressing online issues.
«Our kids are young. They’re 3 and 5. They’re amazing, but all you want to do as parents is protect them,» she said.
Their firstborn, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, now Prince Archie of Sussex, was born on May 6, 2019.
Meghan fondly described him as having «the sweetest temperament» after his birth.
The couple initially considered naming him Harrison but opted for Archie, which means «genuine» and «brave.»
At the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada, Harry shared how Archie is already asking questions about the veterans participating, showing his curiosity about the world.

When Lilibet, or «Lili,» was born on June 4, 2021, in Santa Barbara, Harry and Meghan chose the name Lilibet as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth, who had been affectionately called «Lilibet» by her family.
The couple shared their joy with a heartfelt announcement on the Archewell Foundation website, expressing gratitude for the global support they had received.
Despite their royal lineage, Harry and Meghan have made it clear they are content with their family of four.
