Nicole Kidman responds after Charli XCX sports a T-shirt featuring her face, saying, «I need to get myself a #Brat shirt now»
On Friday, February 14, Charli XCX, the artist behind *BRAT*, posted a TikTok video showcasing a graphic tee featuring images of Nicole Kidman and the word ‘NICOLE’ across the front. This fashion choice quickly caught Kidman’s attention.
In a post shared on her Instagram Stories the following day, February 15, the 57-year-old actress, known for her role in *Babygirl*, posted a screenshot of Charli’s TikTok video.
The video featured Charli wearing a white shirt with three pictures of Kidman and «NICOLE» printed boldly.
«Looks like I need to get myself a #brat shirt now @charli_xcx 😂💚,» Kidman jokingly wrote in her caption.
Charli had shared two videos on TikTok that day. One showed her dancing around a bathroom while singing along to Clairo’s «Sofia.»
In the second, Charli discussed performing at the Laneway Festival in Australia and how she had been inspired by Clairo’s music to explore creating an acoustic album, a contrast to her recent Grammy-winning *BRAT* album with its hyper-pop vibes.
Charli mused in the video, «It got me thinking, what if we made a record with guitars and strings or both?»
Charli XCX has long praised Nicole Kidman, especially for her role in *To Die For* (1995), where Kidman plays a woman who plots to kill her husband to advance her career.
In June 2024, Charli hosted a film series at New York’s Roxy Cinema, highlighting movies that inspired her *BRAT* album, including Kidman’s portrayal of Suzanne Stone.
After her Grammy wins in 2025, Charli landed new acting roles, including *The Gallerist* with Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega.
She’s also co-directing *I Want Your Sex* with Olivia Wilde and contributed to the *Skincare* soundtrack with Elizabeth Banks, after their collaboration on *Bottoms*.
