Travis Kelce reveals that he’s “never played a Super Bowl without” his mom Donna Kelce’s legendary cookies
Travis Kelce’s fourth Super Bowl on Sunday is shaping up to be extra special, and it seems his success has a sweet secret.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end didn’t hesitate when asked if his mom, Donna Kelce, would be baking her famous cookies for this year’s Super Bowl.
“Oh, you know it, you know it,” the 35-year-old said during a media day on Thursday, February 6. “Never played a Super Bowl without them.”
Donna Kelce became well-known for bringing homemade cookies to both her sons, Jason, a former Philadelphia Eagles player, and Travis, ahead of the 2023 Super Bowl.
A photo captured Donna handing each of her boys a Tupperware of cookies as they prepared to face off.
This year, Donna’s cookie tradition continues as the Chiefs and Eagles compete again, though with Jason’s retirement, she’ll only need one container of treats for Travis.
Donna has shared the recipe for these iconic cookies, which feature a combination of milk and white chocolate chips, brown and white sugar, sweet cream butter, cinnamon, optional pecans, and a few other ingredients.
“They’re an absolute favorite for me and everyone in the family,” Donna said in December 2023.
Last year’s Super Bowl also featured a memorable moment with Donna’s split jersey, which she wore to support both of her sons’ teams.
But Travis joked that this year, Donna would be all about the Chiefs colors. “I would hope she didn’t have the split jersey this time,” Travis said.
“I think everybody outside of Jason and Kylie is gonna be wearing red.”
In the lead-up to the Big Game, Travis has also shared insights into his pre-game playlists, his nieces, and his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s game-day outfits.
When asked if they ever coordinated their outfits, he admitted they didn’t «necessarily coordinate,» but added, “Tay’s always gonna be dressed head-to-toe looking the flyest.”
