Travis Kelce skipped the Chiefs’ afterparty and instead FaceTimed The Chainsmokers following the Super Bowl loss
On February 9, the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, Travis Kelce, faced a tough 40-22 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
However, the 35-year-old remained upbeat.
On February 10, a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) showed Kelce in a FaceTime conversation with electronic music duo The Chainsmokers following the Chiefs’ loss.
The producers, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, who performed at a Chiefs afterparty, joked, «I just played your f—ing party.»
Kelce appeared in good spirits, smiling as he chatted with the DJs. During the call, someone off-screen yelled, «Dom is here too!» as the camera switched to DJ Dom Dolla.
While Kelce wasn’t at the afterparty, which was filled with fans and Chiefs supporters, it was clear that the celebration was in full swing.
Gracie Hunt, daughter of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, posted videos to her Instagram Stories, showing the red-clad partygoers dancing and celebrating.
Despite Kelce’s absence, the scene seemed lively.
This marked a contrast to the previous year, when Kelce joined The Chainsmokers, fellow players, and girlfriend Taylor Swift for post-game festivities at Zouk nightclub in Las Vegas after their Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers.
A viral TikTok even showed Kelce dancing to Swift’s «You Belong with Me.»
The tight bond between Kelce and The Chainsmokers is well-known. They also celebrated together after the Chiefs’ 2023 victory over the Eagles at a Hyatt Regency afterparty in Las Vegas.
In May 2024, Kelce was spotted backstage at the duo’s Kentucky Derby performance, further cementing their friendship.
