When Dua Lipa arrived at a recording studio in Los Angeles on Tuesday, she appeared serious.
The singer, who is 27 years old, hasn’t put out an album since 2020’s Future Nostalgia.
But she aroused speculation when she was photographed at the Hollywood Hills location that her third and «really personal» record would finally be on the way.
The New Rules singer, whose casting in the Barbie movie was recently made public, caught everyone’s attention in a striking silk yellow shirt that she wore with a black tie.
She wore a black leather skirt to display her enviably toned legs, carrying a similar jacket and adding Puma sneakers.
She flashed her tanned skin and flaunted her gorgeous toned pins.
Meanwhile, she added black eyeliner for a fashionable look and slightly pulled back her raven hair into a half-up, half-down style.
Dua appeared to be contemplating something as she stepped out of the car with a little frown.
Later, she was spotted at the spot with her friend and fellow songwriter Ali Tamposi, with whom she had previously worked on her hit song Break My Heart.
It happens after it was made public that Dua will perform the iconic doll’s mermaid form and sing the film’s theme song.
Margot Robbie will play the famed doll in Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie movie, and Ryan Gosling will play her longtime love interest Ken.
While many enthusiastic fans welcomed the announcement, others expressed displeasure that Barbie Girl by Aqua,
which reached number one on the charts in 1997, wasn’t being used. Still more demanded that Britney Spears perform the song.
MailOnline contacted a Dua spokesperson at the time, but she declined to comment.
