Angelina Jolie’s 23-year-old son, Maddox, secures an important role in her upcoming film Stitches, currently being shot in Paris
Angelina Jolie is currently filming her new movie Stitches in Paris this month.
In a family-centered move, her 23-year-old son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, has been brought on as the third assistant director for the film, which is set in the glamorous world of high fashion.

Maddox has already joined his Oscar-winning mother on set, assisting her during night shoots in the rain.
The son of Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt, Maddox has previous film experience, having worked on his mother’s past projects, including Maria, Without Blood, By The Sea, and First They Killed My Father.
Though he once enrolled at Yonsei University, Maddox now appears to be focusing on a career in film production.

Maddox worked as an assistant director on Stitches, a film about opera singer Maria Callas’s final days in 1970s Paris. Jolie, 49, is generating Oscar buzz for her role, having learned opera singing for the part.
Maddox also served as assistant director on Without Blood (2025), a film written and directed by Jolie, starring Salma Hayek. In 2017, he was an executive producer on First They Killed My Father, based on Loung Ung’s memoir about the Cambodian genocide.
Maddox expressed excitement about working with his mom and learning more about his birth country.

Maddox worked as a trainee on his mother’s 2015 film By The Sea. He has mentioned enjoying working with her, calling her «fun, funny, and easy to work with.» Maddox contributed by attending meetings, preparing for shoots, and reviewing dailies.
Other of Angelina’s children have also worked with her. Pax served as a photographer on Maria, while Vivienne played a role in bringing The Outsiders to Broadway and appeared in Maleficent.

Zahara has been on set for Stitches and has also worked on projects for Angelina’s shop, Atelier Jolie.
Stitches follows American filmmaker Maxine (played by Jolie) on a life-and-death journey during Paris Fashion Week, with Louis Garrel as her co-star.
Directed by Alice Winocour, the film will be shot in both French and English, set in the high fashion world of Paris, aligning with Jolie’s support for fashion businesses under her Atelier Jolie brand.

Produced by CG Cinema’s Charles Gillibert, in partnership with Zhang Xin and William Horberg of Closer Media, Stitches continues Jolie’s connection to Paris, where she last filmed Maria, portraying opera singer Maria Callas during her final days in the 1970s.
Maria premiered at the Venice Film Festival, receiving an eight-minute standing ovation. Jolie is being touted for a Best Actress Oscar nomination, following her 2000 win for Girl, Interrupted and her last nomination in 2009 for The Changeling.
