Ariana Grande and her boyfriend, Ethan Slater, traveled to her hometown for a special day to watch Wicked with her grandmother
Ariana Grande’s mother, Joan, shared an emotional reaction after watching videos of her daughter and mother enjoying Wicked together. «I was there and I am still crying watching this,» Joan wrote.
Ariana, 31, recently posted several photos and a video on her Instagram Stories, showing a heartwarming family moment with her brother Frankie Grande and their grandmother, Marjorie Grande, whom they lovingly call «Nonna.»
The trio watched Ariana’s performance in the Wicked movie musical at a theater in Boca Raton, Florida. Ariana credited her boyfriend, Ethan Slater, for capturing these special moments.
Ariana wrote in one caption, «Flew to Boca for a day to watch with Nonna at the movie theater I grew up going to every weekend, Cinemark 20 in Boca,» tagging Slater and Frankie.
In another post, she shared a fun moment where Nonna excitedly exclaimed, «Oh I LOVE that,» during a scene featuring a sugar glider, once again thanking Slater for the photos.
The video shared by Ariana showed her grandmother smiling during the song “Popular,” with the family holding hands.

Ariana’s grandmother, Marjorie Grande, is the beloved matriarch of the Grande family. Ariana shared a YouTube video in 2012, revealing that Marjorie and her late husband, Frank, met when Marjorie was just 11 years old.
The couple began dating as teenagers and later had two daughters, including Joan, Ariana and Frankie’s mother.
Throughout Ariana’s career, Marjorie has been a constant presence, attending numerous awards shows and red carpet events with her, including the 2014 VMAs and the 2015 American Music Awards.
Marjorie also made a special appearance as a featured artist on Ariana’s 2024 album Eternal Sunshine, appearing on the final track, «Ordinary Things.» This made Marjorie the oldest person to ever chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in March.
Ariana and Ethan Slater, who portray characters in Wicked, began dating after meeting during the film’s production. In the movie, Slater plays Boq, a classmate of Ariana’s character Glinda at Shiz University.
«He’s always adorable, and he’s so amazing in this film. He’s such an amazing person, I’m so happy people are getting to know him,» Ariana shared during a Nov. 9 interview with Entertainment Tonight. «My heart is very happy.»
