Ariana Grande reveals how Glinda’s glam transformed her “entire relationship to makeup”
«Warm and open and pretty» is how Grande described her character’s makeup in a recent Instagram video.
With all of her glitz, Ariana Grande has embraced the Glindafication that comes with starring in Wicked.
The 31-year-old actress revealed her preparations for being Glinda-fied during production in a new Instagram video posted on Nov. 7. This involved hiding some of her tattoos, applying makeup, and even putting on a wig.
However, Grande let her fans see how much she adores her persona when she openly discussed how much she has embraced her character in her life. Grande, a beauty enthusiast, claimed that she has completely altered her viewpoint on applying cosmetics.
«Glinda’s makeup really changed the way I appear and how I feel about makeup in general. I’m in love with it. She said, «Love, love, love.»
«There’s no, like, thick eyeliner,» Grande said while discussing the makeup her character wears in the Nov. 22 release of the Jon M. Chu-directed film. There isn’t a noticeable wrinkle.
The lashes are in a cat shape, which still gives you the cat eye lift I typically enjoy, but it’s also just a more realistic portrayal of your appearance.
It’s just extremely warm, open, and lovely. You’re thinking, «Oh, this is an eye.»
Grande has hinted that Wicked will feature items from her own line, r.e.m. beauty.
«Glinda wears a few things,» Grande said in an April 2023 YouTube video.
I said, ‘I don’t want to go into this with any type of restrictions or wishes; I want us to find her from the ground up,’ to my gorgeous makeup artist, Nuria, whom I adore. We’ll discover her together if I simply sit down and let you play.»
She continued by saying that she and the crew were locating Glinda «together» during the filming process and that she didn’t want to disclose the items the good witch was wearing just yet, but that everything will be made public eventually.
