Ariana Grande reveals “scary” plan to focus on acting for the next 10 years
«Reconnecting with this part of myself who started in musical theater» is something Grande is looking forward to.

For you, Ariana Grande is taking your place!
The 31-year-old pop sensation and her Wicked co-star Bowen Yang, who co-hosts the program with actor Matt Rogers, were featured on the Wednesday, November 6th episode of the Las Culturistas podcast.
Grande stated in the interview that she wants to go from pop music to musical theater because of her role as Good Witch Glinda in the Universal movie adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway production.

Regarding theatrical performing, she remarked, «It is my heart.»
The «yes, and?» singer was a theater child in 13: The Musical before landing her big break as Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon series Victorious.
During Wednesday’s podcast, Grande went on, «I’m going to say something so scary — it’s going to scare the absolute s— out of my fans and everyone, but I love them, and they’ll deal, and we’ll be here forever.»

«I assure you that I will always perform pop music, go on stage, and create songs. However, I don’t believe that I will continue to do it at the same pace as I have for the previous ten years.
Broadway would provide Grande the opportunity to return to her origins.
Finding ways to use these aspects of myself and place them in small houses, characters, pieces, voices, and songs is therapeutic, she added, «reconnecting with this part of myself that started in musical theater and loves comedy.»

«I would really love to do whatever makes sense, whatever roles we see fit, or where I could really honor the material or do a good job.» It’s much better for me, I believe. I’m starting to feel sentimental.
When the singer of «Thank U, Next» presented Saturday Night Live on October 12, she also talked candidly with Yang, 34, and Rogers, 34, about her new collaboration with music legend Stevie Nicks.

Grande commented, «She had written me a letter a few years ago,» regarding the 76-year-old singer of Fleetwood Mac. «So we had spoken once before but we had never met.»
A former cast member of Saturday Night Live, Yang said, «Ari and I were already on the floor just like giggling being stupid, and then they bring Stevie on, and I just kind of immediately knew to back away.»

Yang claims that Nicks took Grande by the hand and said, «I really liked your ‘We Can’t Be Friends’ video.» Grande said it was «surreal» at the time.
On November 22, Wicked: Part One opens in cinemas. The release date of Wicked: Part Two is November 26, 2025. Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Peter Dinklage, Ethan Slater, Jeff Goldblum, and Michelle Yeoh are also featured in the movie.
