At a Taylor Swift Eras Tour show in Brazil, Felipe Conrado caught the singer’s broken heel — an event that changed his family’s future

Felipe Conrado, a devoted Taylor Swift fan for over 13 years, attended the final Eras Tour show in Rio de Janeiro

Just weeks before the concert, his 37-year-old cousin Angela was diagnosed with cancer. During the performance, Conrado caught a piece of Swift’s shoe that had fallen off, and decided to sell it to raise money for his cousin’s treatment.

Months later, Conrado shared that Angela completed her treatment in September, and, thanks to a generous donation from Christian Louboutin, he was able to keep the shoe.

Felipe Conrado, a dedicated Taylor Swift fan for over 13 years, eagerly attended the Eras Tour in Rio de Janeiro. Little did he know, the experience would change his family’s life.

Just weeks before the concert, his 37-year-old cousin Angela was diagnosed with cancer. While her health insurance initially covered her treatment, a surprise bill after the first month of chemotherapy left the family struggling.

Angela appealed to the government and took legal action, while the family worked hard to raise funds for her care. Months later, Conrado shared that Angela completed her treatment in September, partly thanks to a bit of Swiftie luck.

While sitting in the front row at the Eras Tour, Felipe Conrado saw Taylor Swift crouch on stage, seemingly out of place.

When she turned toward him and threw something in his direction, he instinctively raised his hand and caught it.

It was only after catching the heel of Swift’s Louboutin boot from the Lover era that he realized what had just happened. «I quickly put the shoe in my bag, and it hit me — I had just caught a historic piece from the Eras Tour wardrobe,» he recalls, still in awe.

After catching Taylor Swift’s Louboutin heel, Felipe Conrado considered selling it to fund his cousin’s cancer treatment.

While some criticized the idea, Swifties rallied behind him, with Andrea Rumsey starting the #KeepTheHeel movement to ensure Conrado didn’t have to part with the shoe.

The campaign caught the attention of Christian Louboutin, who sent a handwritten letter offering to help pay for the treatment. Conrado, moved to tears, shared the news with his cousin, and they were both overwhelmed with gratitude. «It was a beautiful ending — the heel came to us at just the right moment!»

Since finishing treatment in September, Conrado says his cousin is doing well and is deeply grateful.

«In this Cinderella-like moment, the heel brings such emotion,» he says. «Maybe one day I’ll meet Taylor and thank her for the surprise that changed my family’s life!»
