At her final Toronto Eras Tour performance, Taylor Swift fights back tears as she addresses the audience: «This isn’t even the final show»
As the conclusion of her continent-spanning Eras Tour draws near, Taylor Swift is becoming emotional.
After playing «Champagne Problems» from Evermore during her sixth and last sold-out gig in Toronto on Saturday, Nov. 23, the 34-year-old pop singer broke down onstage and earned a standing ovation that lasted for several minutes.
«Toronto, we’re at the very end of this tour so you doing that, you have no idea how much it means to me and to my…» Swift said to fans from the Rogers Centre stage in a video that a fan uploaded to TikTok. She then seemed to become very emotional and turned away from the audience for a moment before turning back as they applauded.
«This tour… I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore,» the singer of «I Can Do It with a Broken Heart» went on.
I’m just having a little moment, so… that was… Swift then paused as the crowd applauded and cheered for her as she broke down once again and wiped her face.
«This isn’t even the final performance!» «My band, my crew, all of my fellow performers, we have put so much of our lives into this,» Swift said, joking and laughing. Additionally, you have dedicated a great deal of your life to being with us tonight and providing us with that unforgettable event.»
Swift said, «We’ve loved our time in Toronto, it’s been so amazing,» before pausing once again to cry. Fans excitedly cheered and encouraged her as she wiped her tears a second time.
«I cherish you all. I’m really grateful for it,» she said.
Later, during the 45-song setlist’s «secret songs» section, Swift gave two unexpected acoustic mashups.
After performing a mashup of «Sparks Fly» and «Message in a Bottle» on an acoustic guitar, the 14-time Grammy winner performed a mashup of «You’re Losing Me» and «How Did It End?» on an acoustic piano.
Swift will play three last performances in Vancouver on December 6, 7, and 8 to wrap out the Eras Tour, which began in March 2023.
