Beyoncé playfully nods to previous Netflix live streaming glitches in a fresh teaser for her upcoming Christmas halftime show
Beyoncé could spark a major online frenzy with her Christmas Day halftime show.
In a new clip promoting her performance during the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans game, the 32-time Grammy winner humorously references Netflix’s previous livestream glitches.
As a football rolls toward Beyoncé, 43, she strums the opening notes of «Texas Hold ‘Em» on a banjo. Just before she launches into the song’s lyrics, a red buffering circle appears. The clip resumes, and Queen Bey gives a playful wink to the camera.
«I’m sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve ❤️ I’ll see y’all tomorrow, in my city HTX 🤟🏽🏈🪕🌵🎄,» Beyoncé wrote in the post.
Netflix, which is hosting its first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday on December 25, responded humorously with, «now hold on…»
On X (formerly Twitter), Netflix’s bio now reads: «roasted by beyoncé 12.24.25.»
Fans couldn’t get enough of Beyoncé’s playful buffering stunt. «The buffering is diabolical,» one fan laughed. «I thought my phone was loading and not that she did it 😭😭😭😭😭,» another commented. «Not her breaking Netflix in the ad.. I stan 🐝🐝🐝,» a third fan added.
The promo cleverly referenced Netflix’s past livestream mishaps, like the Nov. 15 fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which had connection issues.
In April 2023, the Love Is Blind season 4 reunion also faced similar problems, with a 45-minute delay due to «issues with the livestream,» according to Netflix. The surge of 6.5 million viewers was later cited as the cause of the glitch.
Ahead of the halftime show, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, assured fans there would be no technical difficulties, saying, «God is going to be there.»
The performance will take place at NRG Stadium in her hometown during the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans Christmas Day game, streaming on Netflix at 1 p.m. ET. It’s expected to be her first live performance of tracks from Cowboy Carter.
The show will be available for rewatching for three hours after the game.
Following the Ravens-Texans game, the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 4:30 p.m. ET.
