Beyoncé praised her 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, after the premiere of their new film, applauding her talent and growth

Beyoncé may be one of the biggest global superstars, but above all, she is a proud mother. At the world premiere of Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King, she stole the spotlight on the red carpet, but it was her 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, who truly captivated everyone’s attention.
In this live-action prequel, Blue voices the character Kiara, the daughter of Beyoncé’s iconic role as Nala, and Simba, voiced by Donald Glover.

After the event, Beyoncé shared a rare and heartfelt tribute to her eldest daughter on Instagram. Along with photos of Blue Ivy shining on the red carpet in a stunning gold gown, Beyoncé poured out her pride and admiration.

«My beautiful baby girl. This is your night,» the Single Ladies singer wrote. «You worked so hard and did an amazing job voicing Kiara. Our family couldn’t be prouder. Keep shining.»

Blue Ivy’s stunning gown at the Mufasa: The Lion King premiere perfectly showcased the star she’s quickly becoming. The strapless dress featured a draped bodice and a voluminous skirt that exuded elegance.

Meanwhile, her mother, Beyoncé, mirrored Blue’s golden radiance with a custom Balmain creation—a sleek black strapless column dress embellished with metallic gold polka dots made from brass leaves.

The ensemble was finished with a daring sculptural neckline and a thigh-high slit that left fans in awe.

The premiere felt like a family celebration, with Jay-Z dressed in a brown suit and Tina Knowles looking chic in black, featuring an off-the-shoulder top and tailored pants.

Jay-Z’s appearance came shortly after he addressed a lawsuit alleging he and Sean «Diddy» Combs raped a 13-year-old girl.

In his statement, he acknowledged the emotional toll on his family, particularly on their children, saying, “My wife and I will have to sit down with our children—one of whom is at an age where her friends will see the headlines and ask questions—and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”

Blue Ivy’s red-carpet debut adds another achievement to her growing résumé, now including Grammy wins and voice acting.

With Beyoncé’s support and her expanding list of accomplishments, the sky’s the limit for Blue. From music royalty to Hollywood’s rising star, she’s clearly following in her mom’s footsteps—and we’re excited to see it.
