On December 4, she married her girlfriend, Jennifer Spinner, at their Nashville home. The intimate ceremony was officiated by a notary and attended by five of Braunwyn’s seven children.
«Jen is my best friend, and I feel incredibly lucky to spend every day with the person I want to be with more than anyone else,» Braunwyn says. The couple’s wedding was a spontaneous, at-home celebration!
Braunwyn Windham-Burke, 47, and her girlfriend Jennifer Spinner, 40, married at their Nashville home on December 4. «We love each other and wanted to do this,» says Windham-Burke.
The couple plans larger celebrations in 2026 in Guatemala, California, and New York. Originally set for October 2026, they moved up the wedding due to concerns over LGBTQ+ rights in Tennessee.
Concerned about the future of gay marriage under Donald Trump’s presidency, Spinner and Windham-Burke wanted to secure legal protections. Windham-Burke says, «This makes it official and ensures the protections we need as a queer couple in the South.»
The couple, who started dating in July 2022 after meeting on Instagram, celebrated their first anniversary in July 2023 with a proposal at 14th Street Park in NYC.
They got engaged again in October 2023 after Spinner proposed with the help of Windham-Burke’s four youngest children.
They exchanged rings in North Carolina on New Year’s Eve and had an unofficial ceremony at Graceland Wedding Chapel on Valentine’s Day. Now, they’ve made it official.
«We’ve faced a lot of backlash and struggled with the environment here, so this is our act of protest,» Windham-Burke says. «We want to stand in our power.»
