Chad Michael Murray expressed how much he enjoyed reconnecting with his *Freaky Friday* co-star Lindsay Lohan for the upcoming sequel, set for release in 2025.

Chad Michael Murray shared his excitement about reuniting with his Freaky Friday co-star Lindsay Lohan for the highly anticipated sequel.
During a fan Q&A at Christmas Con 2024 in Edison, N.J., on Dec. 15, the 43-year-old actor reflected on the experience of working on Freakier Friday.
«It was awesome. It was just a nostalgic kick,» Murray said. «It felt like a high school reunion. It was like no time had passed, even though we’d lived entire lives in between.»

Murray also noted the passage of time, saying, «It’s been 23 years since we were on set doing the first one.» Reflecting on the film’s body-swapping storyline, he admitted that keeping track of the plot’s complexities could be a bit tricky at times.
«There were moments where I’d think, ‘Okay, who’s who?’» he said, adding that despite doing his homework, he still got it wrong.

«But it was great—so much fun.» *Freaky Friday* will bring back Chad Michael Murray as Jake, his character from the original film. Lindsay Lohan, 38, will reprise her role as Anna Coleman, and Jamie Lee Curtis returns as her mother, Tess Coleman.
Other returning stars in the sequel include Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.

Meanwhile, new characters will be portrayed by Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons, according to Variety.
Earlier this year, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Freakier Friday, directed by Nisha Ganatra, will center on Lohan and Curtis’ characters swapping bodies with two teenage girls.
The film is set to be released in theaters on August 8, 2025.
