Cher opened up about being «madly in love» with Val Kilmer, but shared that he left despite their «fabulous sex»
Cher got candid about her love and sex life during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on November 20
The 78-year-old singer and actress revealed she was «madly in love» with Val Kilmer, but despite their «fabulous sex,» he left.
When Howard Stern asked if men «expect fabulous sex» because she’s «Cher,» she confidently replied, «Yes, and they get it.» Cher also shared that she knows the sex is good «by the reaction.»
Stern, 70, was shocked and asked, «Who would ever leave you?» To which Cher responded, «Few men. Few men. A couple.»
She reminisced, «Look, I was madly in love with Val Kilmer, and he left.»
Stern, puzzled, questioned, «Why would he leave? He’s having fabulous sex with one of the most beautiful women in the world. What’s the problem with that?»
Cher explained, «Sometimes you’re only meant to stay with someone for a certain amount of time. Val was really young.» She and Kilmer, 64, met at a birthday party in the early ’80s and quickly fell in love.
In August 2021, Cher reflected on their relationship, admitting that their 14-year age gap was a bigger deal at the time. «The truth is, if I hadn’t dated younger men, I wouldn’t have had any dates,» she confessed. «Younger men weren’t intimidated by older women.»
Cher noted that their shared sense of humor and mutual understanding set their relationship apart from others. «He would just go off and do his own thing, and you had to be prepared,» she recalled. «He was so beautiful. It went from being madly in love and laughing to respecting each other’s abilities.»
Cher added, «We became friends because we laughed at the same things constantly. He would sleep over, and at first, it was just a friendship.»
