Cooper Koch revealed that Kim Kardashian DM’d him to praise his portrayal of Erik Menéndez in *Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story*
Cooper Koch’s star is on the rise after landing his first Golden Globe nomination for his role as Erik Menéndez in *Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story*.

The 28-year-old actor, who made waves with the Netflix series, reflected on how his life has shifted since the show’s success.
In an interview on the red carpet for the 2025 Golden Globes on January 5, Koch expressed his gratitude and excitement: “It’s amazing,” he shared with E! host Heather McMahan.
“I’m just so honored to be here, especially among such a talented group of people in my category.”
Koch is nominated alongside stars like Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor, and Kevin Kline for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television.

When McMahan asked if any notable fans had reached out, Koch revealed that Kim Kardashian had slid into his DMs to compliment his performance. “It was fun,” he said, adding, “She’s great. I love her.”
After *Monsters* premiered, Koch joined Kardashian, her sister Khloé, and mom Kris Jenner for a visit to the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, where the Menéndez brothers have been incarcerated since their 1996 conviction for murdering their parents.
There, they discussed the Green Space project, a California initiative aimed at reducing recidivism by making prison life more like the outside world.

Koch recalled his nerves before meeting Erik Menéndez but said that once they met, “there was an immediate connection.” He shared a heartfelt moment with both Erik and Lyle, noting their kindness and openness.
Now, with *Monsters*’ success under his belt, Koch is being more selective about his next role. “It’s amazing to be in a position where I can pick and choose,” he said.
“I want to work on projects that resonate with me, where I can really connect to the story or the people. I want to find something that’s truly special and meaningful.”
