EXCLUSIVE: Brad Pitt reacts to multi-million dollar offer to reunite with Angelina Jolie for a love story on screen
Brad Pitt has no intention of accepting a multi-million dollar offer to reunite with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, onscreen. Insiders close to the actor have dismissed the proposal as a «publicity stunt.»
Producer Danny Rossner, known for 2001: A Space Travesty, aims to cast the former couple as lovers in a film inspired by real-life hotelier Emmanuel Martinez.
Rossner, passionate about the project for two decades, believes Pitt and Jolie could «set aside their differences» for the role.
However, sources close to the 60-year-old Pitt, who has been in a lengthy divorce battle with Jolie, 49, since 2016, insist there is «no way» he would «lower himself» to work with someone who has caused him so much emotional turmoil.
«All the money in the world wouldn’t get Brad to appear in a movie with Angelina ever again,» an insider exclusively shared.
«It would spark public interest, but he would never consider it. They are bitter enemies, and there’s no way he would lower himself to work with her for any amount of money.» The source added, «She’s caused him so much heartache and doesn’t want his inner circle talking about her.»
Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016 after a heated argument on their private jet. Since then, Pitt has been estranged from their children, including Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16, as well as his three adopted children.
The pair was legally declared single in 2019 but remain locked in a legal dispute over their Chateau Miraval estate.
A source described Rossner’s offer as a «clever publicity stunt» and emphasized that it was «not something either side entertained.» They added, «There was never any real offer.»
Rossner’s proposed film is set at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes during World War II, with Pitt playing the real-life hotel owner, Martinez, and Jolie as his mistress, Emma Digard.
Rossner claimed to have raised $60 million from backers to entice them, offering Pitt around $20 to $25 million per movie and Jolie $15 million, with a 50% increase on their usual rates.
He acknowledged the challenge of having them perform «heavy love scenes» but said he would «accommodate» their wishes. «It’s a torrid love scene, but not salacious,» he said.
Rossner also optimistically added, «If we can have a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, [Pitt and Jolie] can put their differences aside.»
Rossner, whose credits include The Ultimate Weapon, stated that he had no second-choice actors for the roles.
