Justin Bieber wishes his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez «happiness» after hearing about her engagement to music producer Benny Blanco, according to sources close to the situation.
However, insiders also reveal that the news of Selena’s engagement left Justin feeling «stung.»
The two pop stars had a highly publicized on-and-off relationship from 2010 to 2018 before Justin, now 30, moved on with his current wife, Hailey Baldwin. Selena, 32, and Benny, 36, made headlines last week when she shared photos of her stunning marquise-cut diamond ring, announcing their engagement.
Insiders reveal that while Justin Bieber is happily focused on his life with wife Hailey and their son, Jack, he admitted that Selena’s engagement marked the «end of an era.»
«Justin is married with a kid, but when he heard about Selena, it stung for a moment,» a source said. «Even though they’ll never be friends or romantically involved again, it’s the official end of that chapter.»
Justin and Selena’s relationship began in 2009, when he serenaded her during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
They initially denied rumors, with Selena calling him her «little brother,» but later became an on-and-off couple until their final breakup in 2014 after Selena found suggestive texts from Kylie Jenner on Justin’s phone.

Justin married Hailey Baldwin in September 2018, just months after his split from Selena. They welcomed their son, Jack, in August 2024.
The source added that Justin hopes the engagement will finally end the speculation about a reunion between him and Selena. «He hopes this will put an end to fans clinging to that relationship.»
Meanwhile, Hailey subtly supported Selena by liking her engagement post, which featured a photo of Benny Blanco embracing Selena and a close-up of her ring.
Despite rumors of tension between Hailey and Selena, Hailey’s gesture seems to show goodwill.
