I’m A Celeb’s Tulisa has revealed heartbreaking reason behind getting cosmetic facial surgery minutes after the show began
Tulisa Contostavlos has disclosed how her looks was altered by a grueling 12-year health fight with Bell’s palsy.

With the premiere of I’m A Celebrity on Sunday, the 36-year-old N-Dubz star made a comeback to the spotlight, sporting a new appearance.
She decided to have a makeover before her time in the Jungle, getting her eyebrows and lips inked and having more filler applied.
Tulisa avoided the necessity for cosmetics by getting lengthy eyelash extensions and getting her eyebrows tattooed, even though makeup is not permitted at the camp.
However, despite her stunning appearance in the Jungle, Tulisa recently talked about a health issue that put her in «horrific» agony and terrified about her face.

In 2020, the singer received a diagnosis of Bell’s palsy, a neurological condition in which a damaged or malfunctioning facial nerve results in weakness or paralysis on one side of the face.
However, she quickly found herself caught in a vicious cycle of having her face bloated and irritated and then getting filler to balance out her look.
Tulisa said that the issues were especially severe when she reunited with the group in 2022, bringing an end to their 11-year break from the music industry with a new tour and single release, in an interview with Olivia Attwood’s podcast So Wrong It’s Right this month.

An ultrasound of her face revealed ‘three chronically infected cysts’ in her cheek, one of which burst during ‘explorative surgery’ because it was so bulbous, and the doctor quickly identified the source.
According to Tulisa, «I have no idea what caused them, they weren’t filler, they just happened on their own, but I came out of the operation and my face was less swollen instantly.»
She went on to say that she was caught in a «vicious cycle» after trying to «balance out» her face with fillers after experiencing her first Bell’s palsy attack at the age of 24.

The issue was managed for two years, but she began to have a «low level swelling» in the same cheek, which quickly got worse.
«I would get tingling sensations like little ants crawling in my face,» she stated. «Something’s wrong with me, what’s wrong with my face?» I began asking physicians all around the UK, and it was really frightening. This continued until this year, and it was horrifying.

My cheek felt like it was burning all the time. I would have both good and bad days, and on some of those days, I would take steroids to help lower it.
It was at its worst while I was on the N-Dubz run, so I could appear normal in an interview. You’re like, «What the hell is going on with my face?» when you watch another interview.
Tulisa also expressed her opinion that the excruciating cysts were a contributing factor in a lengthy list of health issues, including sarcoidosis and immunological diseases, that she had been battling for years.

She revealed: «I’ve had sarcoidosis and immune disorders for years, which explains all the symptoms I was experiencing and could have been causing Bell’s palsy because there were, I believe, six of them in total.»
They could have been expanding over time, which would have set off the Bell’s.

Tulisa claimed she decided to stop using the filler on her face after years of trying and now just uses it on her lips.
«At the moment, I only have filler in my lips,» she continued. There’s no filler anywhere else in my face.’
