Jennifer Lawrence Cradles Baby Bump at ‘Bread & Roses’ Documentary Premiere with Malala

At the Los Angeles premiere of the documentary Bread & Roses on Thursday night, Jennifer Lawrence flaunted her aggressive pregnancy style.

The 34-year-old Oscar winner walked down the red carpet wearing a black goth glam dress while holding her baby belly.

The edgy off-the-shoulder dress had exquisite flowing, loose mesh sleeves, and a seductive lace-up breast.

With a gold statement ring on her wedding finger, diamond studs, and a silver ear cuff, Lawrence wore few accessories.

Her fringe was pinned down for a sleek appearance, and her distinctive sandy blonde hair cascaded down her back in flowing curls.

The Hunger Games actress revealed last month that she and her 40-year-old husband, Cooke Maroney, an art dealer, are expecting their second child.

Lawrence wore a gritty makeup look for the event on Thursday, which included a nude lip, smeared black eyeliner, and smokey brown eyeshadow.

Her cheekbones were sculpted with bronzing powder, and her cheeks had a young pink blush.

Before the LA showing, the pregnant celebrity stood for photographers and looked stunning.

Under her production firm Excellent Cadaver, which she established in 2018, Lawrence and her producing partner Justine Ciarrocchi created the documentary for Apple Original Films.

According to IMDb, Bread & Roses, which was directed by Sahra Mani in Afghanistan, documents the «experiences of Afghanistan’s women under the Taliban since they took control of Kabul» in August 2021.

In May 2023, the movie had its global debut at the Cannes Film Festival.

Lawrence explained the creation of the impactful documentary in an interview with Deadline at the time.

«I told Justine that we need to find someone on the ground who can get a camera in there when I was watching the fall of Kabul on the news in 2021,» she remembered.

After seeing Mani’s 2018 documentary A Thousand Girls Like Me, which chronicles the tale of an Afghan lady seeking justice after years of sexual assault at the hands of her own father, Ciarrocchi recommended that Mani lead the project.

Mani was the ‘ideal’ pick, Lawrence agreed.

In addition to being from Afghanistan, her documentary was really powerful and inspiring.

She told the site, «And I think her point of view, not to mention her camera abilities are remarkable.»

Lawrence also explained to the source why Excellent Cadaver was a logical next step for a documentary like Bread & Roses.

«We want to continue creating things that we care about and that we react to.» Since the firm is still in its infancy, it is difficult to predict what it will be or what it is, she said.

«We’ll simply continue to pursue our goals and what matters to us.» When the Taliban assumed power in 2021, we had no idea what would happen.

The No Hard Feelings actress said, «This movie was born out of necessity, emotional necessity.»

At the premiere, which took place at the Hammer Museum on Thursday night, Lawrence got back together with producer friend Ciarrocchi.
