Jennifer Lopez opens up about Summer Tour canceling and plans for future
The reason behind Jennifer Lopez’s This Is Me…Live tour cancellation is being revealed.
The singer and actress gave a detailed explanation of why she decided to cancel a run of summer 2024 concerts in North America in an interview with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, which was published on October 9.
J. Lo, 55, said, «I can’t wait to get back out there.» «My fans are the kindest and most compassionate people in the world. Some fan bases have a fiery side. I am merely a group of romantics.»
The star of Atlas says, «I was so devastated to let anybody down, but I just needed to be with my kids and myself and really dig down deep into things that were happening in my life.»
Months before she filed for divorce from her ex-husband Ben Affleck on August 20, Lopez called off the tour in May. «And I’m glad I did, because it was a really difficult time for me,» she explained.
«Probably the hardest time of my life, but it was also the best time because I got to do that work on myself.»
After thanking her followers for «understanding» the change, the «On the Floor» singer assured Glaser that she would «be out there entertaining you and shaking my ass sooner than you know.»
In order to promote her most recent studio album, This Is Me…Now, which was released in February, This Is Me…Live was initially scheduled to run from June to August.
When Live Nation first made the announcement of the cancellation, it stated that Lopez was «taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.»
Then, she posted a statement on her OntheJLo website, outlining the reasons it was a difficult choice. «I am very sorry for disappointing you; I am inconsolable.
At that time, she stated, «Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.»
«I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again,» said Lopez. «I adore you all a great deal. Until the next occasion, I hope.
