Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have separated after 10 years of marriage, calling it a «painful situation.»

Jessica Simpson and her husband, Eric Johnson, are separating after a decade of marriage.

Simpson, 44, and her 45-year-old husband, a former NFL player, are navigating a difficult time in their relationship, she shared in an exclusive statement.

She emphasized that their children’s well-being is their top priority as they work through this situation as a family.

“We appreciate the love and support we’ve received and ask for privacy as we focus on what’s best for our children,” Simpson said.

The announcement came just days after Simpson posted a cheerful selfie on Instagram, reminding her followers to smile.

Johnson was spotted without his wedding ring in November, around the same time Simpson hinted at her return to music with an Instagram post showcasing her in a recording studio.

Simpson and Johnson, who married in July 2014, share three children: Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, 12, Birdie Mae, 5, and Ace Knute, 11.

They had been together for four years before tying the knot, and their first two children were born in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Their children played key roles in their wedding ceremony, serving as the ring bearer and flower girl.

Simpson has spoken highly of Johnson’s support for her career, saying he understands her better than anyone.

She once described their relationship as “easy” and highlighted their ongoing efforts to keep romance alive despite raising three kids.

Simpson also expressed how much she values their strong communication and growing love over time.

Prior to her marriage to Johnson, Simpson was married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2005.
